Bella Notte

Photographed at the Luxe Bel Air by Gian Andrea Di Stefano

Tall, ruggedly handsome and refreshingly unpretentious, David Boreanaz is a throwback to Hollywood leading men of old. Which is fitting, because not only does the actor keep framed photos of such golden-era stars as Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney at his Los Angeles home, but he and his wife, Jaime Bergman - best known as one of the stars of the late, great FX network comedy Son of the Beach - were married at the Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs, where no less than Clark Gable and Carole Lombard spent their 1939 honeymoon.

Equally fitting, Boreanaz shares a Gable-and-Lombard ease with Emily Deschanel, his costar on the popular Fox drama Bones. After years of playing the title role of a brooding vampire on the long-running series Angel, Boreanaz clearly relishes the opportunity to lighten up, which Bones, even with its occasional grim story lines, allows him to do on a regular basis as Seeley Booth, the cocksure FBI agent who partners (and banters) with Deschanelís jaded forensic anthropologist, Temperance Brennan, to investigate tough-to-solve murders.
