THE MAN WHO BROUGHT
THE BEATLES TO HOLLYWOOD He may be best known as host of The Newlywed Game , but Bob Eubanks will be revered in the L.A. music forever for bringing the Beatles to town for their legendary Hollywood Bowl show. These days, though, he's playing a different tune, living a cowboy's life at Peppertree Ranch, his family getaway in the Santa Ynez Valley. . .

CANYON OF THE MIND

THE ROOTS OF TOPANGA ROCK.
From Woody Guthrie and Neil Young to Spirit and even Charles Manson, Topanga Canyon has been a magnet for musicians seeking a rustic alternative to the L.A. scene.
The mountains and the canyons start to tremble and shake
The children of the sun begin to wake
Led Zeppelin, “Goin' to California"
Remove the word “Canyon” from the glossary of Southern California rock, and you're left with a gaping hole. Canyons have been inseparable from the Los Angeles music scene for over 50 years. Actually, they're inseparable from Californian art, period.
“There are canyons at least every 20 or 30 miles in the L.A. basin,” says country-rock legend Chris Darrow. “They've always tended to be havens for artists and musicians and people who had alternative lifestyles".
